I was deploying an old app on my latest simulator (11.4) and for reason that I could not understand, the app wasn’t installing. I looked at the console, my first source of mystery unveiling and realized that useless XCODE message “App cannot be installed at this time” was just a mask over the actual error (a bundle ID typo between the watch and phone app.
The typo was spread in multiple places (yay copy and paste) so I had to change and build until I would get rid of the monstrosity. So I opened a terminal window and typed:
tail -f ~/Library/Logs/CoreSimulator/CoreSimulator.log
Which kept me posted as I would compile and hit run. Super handy. No magic but it might save a life to the random engineer wondering the Internet one day with the same problem.
You are welcome.
